Before we delve into today’s topic, allow me to stipulate that when I say toilet stains, I am not referring to actual shit stains. Rather, I am referencing stains that occur as a result of minerals, limescale, and hard water.
By no means am I attempting to suggest that human shit can’t cake itself onto a toilet bowl with more adhesive than chewing gum left out in the sun, but for the sake of this post, let’s focus on the other sort of toilet bowl stains.
Upon moving into our home after getting married, Blaine and I were fortunate enough to have our home renovated with almost all new items. One of these new items was a toilet, and for about a year, it remained in its pristine and fresh condition.
After a little while, though, I started noticing some ugly yellowish and brown stains forming in our toilet bowl, and nothing I did cleaning-wise was able to remove them. I tried everything from bleach to a pumice stone, and still, the stains prevailed.
I did a little bit of research to see if I could find something to remove these ugly-ass stains, and I came across a promising review of Scrubbing Bubbles Drop-Ins, Continuous Toilet Bowl Cleaning Tablets. I was a little leery to try these because I had tried other tablets prior to these ones, but, figuring it was at least worth a shot, I got some to experiment with.
I imagine I’ll be a lifelong patron of these tablets, because they really do work that well. Within a couple of days of dropping one of these tablets into the tank of our toilet, the stains that had made the bowl their home for years started to disappear. As of now, our bowl is almost entirely spotless, and these things are absolutely worth the money.
