I’m not exactly proud to admit this, but I consider myself to be an out-of-sight, out-of-mind person when it comes to specific cleaning jobs. For example, the outside of my microwave is spick and span, because that is what is visible to the human eye most of the time; the inside, however, has seen better days, and it’s gotten to a point that I decided it was time for a deep clean.
I came across this tool in a BuzzFeed article, and because it had fantastic reviews and is specifically intended to clean the interior of a microwave without any intensive labour required, I figured I would give it a shot. I ordered the Genuine Fred DRAGON’S BREATH Microwave Steam Cleaner from Amazon a few weeks ago, and after using it twice, my microwave looks fantastic.
The dragon itself is made of silicone, and all that is required to make use of him is filling him with a combination of vinegar and water, and allowing him to cook inside the microwave for several minutes. After using his services on two separate occasions, I can attest to the quality of this beast and his cleaning abilities.
Was this purchase absolutely vital in the equation of cleaning the inside of my microwave? No. But it’s cute as hell and makes cleaning slightly less miserable, so I absolutely recommend buying this little guy. The silicone he is made of is BPA-free, and on his Amazon page, it says to add a bit of lemon juice to achieve a lovely citrus aroma.
He can have a bath in a dishwasher when he himself needs to be cleaned, but until that becomes necessary, allow yourself to chuckle at this dragon exuding a cloud of steam while he thoroughly cleanses the interior of your crusty-ass microwave.
