I am not one to wear eyeshadow. As much as I would like to make use of eye product other than mascara, and as much as I appreciate how beautiful it can be, I simply do not have the skill or the patience to blend creams and powders endlessly atop eyelid primer on to my eyelid. I’m quite content with just mascara.
That being said, I certainly have at least attempted to wear eyeshadow. My sister has given me numerous palettes and individual shades to experiment with, but I typically end up becoming frustrated and discouraged from trying them out again.
So, when Sephora announced their VIB 20% off beauty sale a few days ago, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to purchase a single eyeshadow considering it would be discounted and I wouldn’t regret purchasing it for a cheaper price if my attempt to use it failed miserably. I purchased the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in “Fluffy”, which is a warm, coppery shade, and although I am not particularly a fan of the shade name, I am definitely a fan of the product.
This single shadow normally retails for $7.00, and considering the unbelievable pigment and smooth consistency of it, I cannot believe it isn’t more expensive. The Super Shock shadow comes in two other colors, “Revolution” which is a pink shade and “Bouncy” which is a green shade, and all three shades offer a shimmery, metallic finish. They are all cream shadows and are formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates, and are furthermore PETA certified cruelty-free.
Colourpop was recently introduced to Sephora, and I certainly am not complaining about it. The products are high-quality at an affordable price, and if the rest of Colourpop’s products are as good as the Super Shock shadow, I will certainly be picking up more items from them in the near future.
