A couple of weeks ago I picked up a package of chocolate cupcakes from Sobey’s made by the brand Newton’s No Gluten. The product claimed to be free of the most common allergens, specifically the allergens I personally am intolerant to, so I figured I would give it a try and see whether or not it was worth repurchasing them.
Holy tamole, these cupcakes are bomb.
All of Newton’s No Gluten products are free of peanuts, gluten, tree nuts, dairy, egg, and soy, making them an ideal snack for any person who suffers from a combination of different food allergies or intolerances. Do your research, though; some of their products are free from select allergens, but not all five combined. So far I have only sampled the chocolate cupcakes and their brownie, but some of their other products include bread, buns, muffins, baking mixes, bars and squares, cakes, quiche, cookies, fruit pies, dinner pies, and sauces.
In addition to their wide array of products, each product they offer further comes in a variety of flavours. For example, their cupcake flavours include double chocolate, vanilla, mint chocolate, lemon raspberry, tuxedo, vanilla mint, chocolate orange, chocolate raspberry, wild blueberry, double lemon, lemon blueberry, caramel vanilla latte, pumpkin spice, creamsicle, candy cane, and gingerbread. Could you ask for more?
I found Newton’s No Gluten products at my local Sobey’s, but be sure to check out their website to determine the closest location to you. Their website lists all of their products and which allergens each product is free of, and there are numerous recipes listed as well.
A word of warning; Newton’s No Gluten products are not cheap, but for me personally, the phenomenal taste of their merchandise makes the price tag justifiable. It is difficult to come across a chocolate cupcake that truly tastes like a chocolate cupcake, and Newton’s nailed it!
