Jennifer Owens

Looking for some new music the other evening, I pleasantly stumbled across a young woman on Youtube named Jennifer Owens. In my search for a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, I discovered Jennifer’s cover of the song and was absolutely astounded by this young woman’s angelic voice.

I wouldn’t say I am an overly emotional person unless I’m PMSing or I’ve run out of my favourite cereal, but hearing Jennifer’s voice literally made me cry. This has never happened to me, and I was honestly a little unsure as to what was happening to me, but her voice is seriously so incredible it moved me to tears.

I have never heard a voice so pure and raw with emotion as Jennifer’s is, and I genuinely can’t put into words what it is about her voice because it is so indescribable. I strongly urge you to check her channel out (it is linked above) and definitely give a listen to her cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water, Amazing Grace and I Will Always Love You.

This is what I love about Youtube. Occasionally, you come across individuals so remarkably talented that have yet to be discovered (I’m not sure if Jennifer has yet been discovered), and knowing such gifted people exist in our world is really amazing. Some people really are blessed with gifts that are beyond any sort of explanation, but putting them to use is something we can all be grateful for.

If you’re a fan of Adele, it’s likely you’ll be a fan of Jennifer Owens. Seriously. If you know of any other gifted people posting on Youtube, please let me know, whatever their talent be. These people deserve recognition for their incredulous talents, and the more people who know about them, the better their chances of being discovered.
