Here’s why you should be using hemp oil on your skin

For many of us, our skin likely isn’t looking the way we would like it to. Especially if you’re residing in a colder climate, because chances are by this point in the year, your skin is starting to closely resemble that of a snake’s.

Not to fret about your reptilian state, though. Thanks to an article originally published on Made By Hemp’s website, there’s a little something called hemp oil that can make a world of difference when it comes to the condition of our skin.

Why hemp oil, you may be wondering? Well, for starters, it works as a great skin moisturizer. Hemp oil “contains fats or lipids that are similar to those occurring naturally in our skin… (making) it an effective moisturizer and protector of the skin. It increases the skin elasticity hence bringing to life dehydrated and tired-looking skin.”

That doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

In addition to bringing moisture back into the skin topically, hemp oil can also be taken as a nutritional supplement, enhancing the condition of skin from both the inside and outside, the article explains.

Hemp oil is packed with several supplements that contribute to a healthy lifestyle, for example, Vitamins A and E, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, iron, zinc and calcium. These minerals occur in hemp oil in limited amounts, hence why ingesting it can be another great option. And, as it turns out, “hemp oil is a common ingredient in shampoos, lotions, sunscreens and other products for skin care… because hemp’s moisturizing properties are incredible. Plus it adds vitamin D to the skin; necessary for keeping it smooth and soft throughout,” the article explains.

If you’re someone who suffers from dry skin, hemp oil may be what makes the biggest difference in terms of topical and oral treatments. Check out the Made By Hemp website if you’re curious to learn more.
