What a woman.
I honestly feel as though if this is all I was to write to describe this woman, it would be acceptable. She’s that awesome.
But, I won’t do that to you. I imagine you’ve already invested in reading this post simply because you clicked on the link, so I’ll leave you with a little more than just that.
Born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, Ellen DeGeneres identifies as an American comedian, producer, actress, writer, and of course, a television show host. Born in January of 1958, this 61-year-old badass is a source of inspiration for all sorts of people, and for good reason. In an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1993, she bravely revealed her sexual orientation, allowing her to become a significant advocate for the LGBTQ community. She married her wife, Portia de Rossi, in 2008.
Ellen launched her stand-up career in the early 80s, though many of us likely know her for her sitcom Ellen, which ran from 1994-98, and further, The Ellen DeGeneres Show which has been on television since 2003. In addition to these tremendous feats, Ellen has also engaged in voice acting, has appeared in different films and television shows, has hosted several major Hollywood award shows, created and launched her ED lifestyle brand and associated merchandise, has her own record label, is a commercial spokesperson, advocates for animal rights, and is a humanitarian.
Ellen “has won 30 Emmys, 20 People’s Choice Awards (more than any other person), and numerous other awards for her work and charitable efforts. In 2016, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom” her Wikipedia page explains.
Is there anything this woman doesn’t do? Apparently not.
I feel like I could go on and on about this incredible woman and all of her accomplishments. There’s really only one way to conclude this post.
What a woman.
