Caring for our skin in the Summer months here in Ontario can be a bit trickier than caring for it in the Spring, Fall, or even Winter. Unfortunately, Ontarians are all too familiar with the high humidity that accompanies our Summer season, and in case you’re unaware, humidity and acne-prone skin are not exactly friends. In the context of skin, I really don’t know what positives humidity can offer, expect perhaps replenishing some moisture in dry, cracked skin, I suppose.
Moving on.
As someone who has had acne-prone skin for most of my life, Summer is a little bittersweet for me. As much as I enjoy warmer weather, my skin ultimately doesn’t, so I’m always a little leery when the thermometers start to rise.
I have, though, come across a skincare routine that appears to be holding its own against the humid temperatures we’re encountering lately. I’ve been using Vichy’s Normaderm line for a few months now, and while I believe the Normaderm products from Vichy are a definite powerhouse when it comes to Summer skincare, they’re also fantastic year-round for anyone who is like me and isn’t a fan of representing a pizza face in public.
I have been using the Normaderm face gel cleanser, toner, and anti-acne moisturizer for a while now, and while I can’t say these products have abolished my acne, I think they’ve helped keep it under control for the most part. I do still get breakouts here and there, especially around that time of the month, but for the most part, this line from Vichy does the job and it also helps keep my oily skin in check when it is so warm outside.
Vichy’s Normaderm line is, in my opinion, a great skincare routine option for the Summer, whether you have severe, moderate, or mild acne. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
