Breakfast foods, without a doubt, are among my dad’s favourite things to eat, and with his birthday quickly approaching, he told our family he wanted to go out for breakfast. His choice of restaurant was Dixieland Grill, formerly known as Two Arrows Restaurant, located on Chiefswood Road in Hagersville, Ontario.
My dad had been to Two Arrows Restaurant before it was changed to Dixieland Grill, and because he recalled the breakfast being rather tasty, he wanted to give this place a try.
He noted that the entire facility has been redone, and it looks fantastic. It has a very rustic vibe with a lot of wood, and while I don’t know what the building looked like when it was the home of Two Arrows Restaurant, it looks great as Dixieland Grill.
This place is open seven days a week from 8am to 10pm. They serve breakfast until noon, and a lot of the non-breakfast menu options looked pretty tasty.
I ordered the Rise & Shine which comes with two eggs, cooked to your preference, along with a choice of potato, toast and meat. This place has a lot of options for all of these categories; I opted for grits as my potato choice, a biscuit for my bread choice, and sausage patties for the meat. It also came with baked beans, and the entire meal was $9.00, which I found to be incredibly reasonable considering the portion sizes.
Myself, my mom, my dad and my sister all ordered a breakfast dish, along with coffee and juice, and our bill was roughly $60.00. This place is cozy, welcoming, affordable, and offers some damn good breakfast. I’m not sure what else you could ask for in a restaurant, and considering this one is still relatively new in terms of operation, I think they’re doing an incredible job.
