Similar to my post discussing how to make homemade beef stroganoff a few days ago, and the source of the inspiration of said post being attributed to my dad, a similar theme is applicable to today’s post. I was struggling to come up with a topic and asked my mom for some ideas, and she suggested writing about how Spring is approaching. So here we are.
Thanks, mom and dad!
Moving on.
Anyways, yes, Spring is not too far away and we Canadians are grasping at it in a desperate attempt to keep these lingering winter blues at bay. This winter, for where my family and I reside in Southwestern Ontario, has been more of a traditional Canadian winter in the sense that it has been quite frigid at times, and we have had a shit ton of snow. These past few winters haven’t been so reflective of a good ‘ol hearty Canadian ass-kicking winter, so it seems that this year has more than made up for it. I believe the coolest temperature we have had these past few months was -25 Celsius, and at times we had several feet of snow accumulated on the ground.
A lot of us suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder which can make the winter months quite difficult, so when the onset of Spring is tangible in the air, we Canadians tend to get a wee bit excited. Understandably so; Spring is a time of renewal, rebirth and rejuvenation, which is a total paradox to the season that concludes just prior to Spring.
Hang in there, my friends. Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes happiness, joy and optimism, in a general sense. The days are longer, the weather is warmer, and things just seem to be better in an overall sense.
