Can cannabis help with anxiety?

Ahhh, cannabis. I like to refer to this stuff as the Advil of the drug realm; it’s strong enough to take the edge off, but won’t have you seeing demons in your bedroom corner, which is something I imagine most of us can appreciate. That is, unless you find joy in hallucinating and convincing yourself that the demon in your corner could end up being a good friend, which isn’t something I would recommend.

Demons typically aren’t friendly.

I’ve been using cannabis on a daily basis now for about three years now. When I say daily basis, I’m referring to my use of it each night just before I go to sleep. I don’t want anyone thinking I’m a raging pothead, although I really don’t think being conned a pothead is such a bad thing, in the grand scheme of things.

I started using cannabis to see if it would help alleviate my anxiety, and I am happy to report that it has done just that. Allow me to make mention of the fact that this post contains my own experiences and opinions regarding cannabis and anxiety, and it is important to note that my own experiences with using weed to calm my anxiety may not be applicable to someone else who has tried using cannabis to combat their anxiety. Some folks who have anxiety find marijuana use worsens their condition, while others, like myself, find it to be beneficial.

I smoke weed a couple of hours prior to hitting the sheets each night. It calms me down, enables me to relax, and ultimately slows my mind down which, when you have anxiety, is a wonderful thing. The devil’s lettuce has helped me, personally, with my own anxiety, and I plan to continue using it for as long as I can.

  1. I recently started using Cannabis for anxiety and find it’s the best stuff I’ve used so far. I used cannabis for recreational purposes before and had no idea I would be using it today for anxiety treatment. Thanks for sharing 👍
