I think it is fair to say that the majority of long-term romantic couples struggle to keep the concept of dating alive and well. And, really, it’s understandable; I believe it makes sense that in relationships that have been in existence for a few years the idea of dating becomes one of the past. We no longer associate our relationship with the construct of dating seeing that is arguably how we met our partner initially.
Regardless of the duration or length of a relationship, dates are not something that should become forgotten. They’re a means to spend quality time with each other, plus they serve as an opportunity to get out of the house and do something different, which, when you’ve been together for a while, isn’t a bad thing.
I thought it might be fun to compose a list of date ideas to assist anyone feeling as though they’re in a bit of a rut in regards to finding new and fun things to do in the form of a date.
Check out some local breweries or wineries and do a tasting together.
Go for a nature walk or hike.
Go bar-hopping.
Try your hand at a painting class.
Make pottery together.
Go on a bike ride.
Spend the day at the beach.
Have a movie marathon.
Dabble in some board games.
Go bowling.
Plan a date night for each other, meaning grab your partners favourite snacks, drinks and movies.
Take a cooking class together.
If you’re into adrenaline, rent some quads and go riding for the day.
Go fishing.
Have a picnic.
Do a puzzle together.
Watch a sports game.
Hit up the movies.
Visit an arcade.
I’m sure there are quite a few ideas I’m failing to mention, but I hope this list can be the source of some new and fun date ideas for you and your significant other.
