Last week, I met up with a dear friend of mine for dinner. We had a wonderful time, as per usual, and I noticed while sitting across from her at the table that her face makeup looked incredible. I could tell she had makeup on, but it was so beautifully subtle and natural, so I had to ask her what she was wearing. She told me about this tinted sunscreen she has been using and swears by it, so upon getting the name of the product from her, I knew I had to try it for myself.
I’m not one to wear tinted sunscreen because I find they typically don’t offer a ton of coverage, nor do they really do anything for my skin. I have a fair amount of acne scarring and discolouration, so when I do wear makeup, you can bet that I opt for the heavy-duty shit. That is, I did until I tried the tinted sunscreen recommended by my friend.
The product in question is by La Roche Posay (a fantastic skincare brand, if I might add) and is called the Anthelios Mineral One SPF 50+ Tinted Facial Sunscreen. Here’s a description of the product from the La Roche Posay website:
“ANTHELIOS MINERAL ONE is a daily mineral protection for that uses only ONE filter for a high UVA-UVB broad spectrum daily protection. Great for all skin types, it offers 24H daily hydration and 12H long wear. This sunscreen has a light-weight, melt-in cream texture that provides light-medium coverage, in a natural satin finish. In addition, its formulated to be great for every day use, enriched with hyaluronic acid and antioxidant vitamin E. Formulated with a hypoallergenic (allergy tested), non-irritating fragrance.”
The website states that this product is light to medium coverage, but holy shit, I cannot believe the coverage this puppy packs. It hid the majority of my imperfections, and it blends like a fucking dream. A little goes a long way, so you don’t need to use a lot, and it also happens to be tested by dermatologists and ophthalmologists, is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog pores, and it’s hypoallergenic.
This will likely be my go-to product this summer, and I cannot recommend it enough.
