I have no shame in admitting I’m a sweaty bitch. I always have been, and likely always will be. Some folks sweat more than others, and I’m definitely in the sweats easily classification. When I was in high school, there were semesters in which I would have gym mid-day, followed by an English or math class, and when I say I went to class looking like a glistening beacon, I’m not exaggerating.
The fact that I sweat easily doesn’t necessarily bother me. What used to bother me tremendously, however, was my underarm sweat; there was a period in my life during which I literally only wore black shirts because my sweat stains were just about down to the bottom of my ribcage.
It was not a pleasant sight.
A few years ago, my mom, dad and I went to Cleveland, Ohio, to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. One evening, while watching television in our hotel room, a commercial came onscreen detailing a product named Carpe which promised to end sweating in various problem areas, for example, your armpits, your face, hands and feet.
As soon as we got home I ordered the stuff, and I haven’t looked back.
I’ve tried just about every product under the sun that claims to block sweat, but Carpe’s underarm stick is the only product that has proved to be effective. I put it on in the evening before I go to bed, and within a month or so, I noticed my pit stains were gone. It was a truly liberating experience, as ridiculous as it sounds, because now I’m not constantly checking my pits to see if there are stains, plus I can wear colours other than black now.
