If you have oily skin, you may be inclined to believe that your skin doesn’t require any additional moisture. The idea makes sense, really; if your skin already resembles the bottom of a pan after cooking bacon, you’re probably not thinking about when to reapply said grease.
While this belief makes sense in principle, it simply is not the case. Whether or not you have pre-existing oils on your skin does not dictate if or if not you should be making use of a daily moisturizer, because our skin does require additional moisture, normally speaking. I have always had oily skin and was once under the impression that because my skin is so oily, there is no way in fuck it needs any more moisture, but thankfully I was educated by a dermatologist and informed that even the oiliest of skin needs some moisturizer.
I recently started using CeraVe’s Moisturizing Lotion for normal to dry skin, and because I am content with the results so far, I thought I would share my thoughts with all of you. I picked up a beast of a tub at Costco when I was there last, but you can find this stuff in most drugstores and online.
“Finding the right products for your skincare routine should come down to a few easy steps. Besides cleansing, a daily moisturizer is essential. We recommend looking for ingredients like Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid to help maintain skin’s protective barrier. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that helps hydrate and restore skin natural barrier. Formulated with three essential Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid, this moisturizing lotion features patented time-release MVE Technology for all-day hydration,” the product’s description via the CeraVe website says.
This stuff is affordable, scent-free, easy to apply, absorbs into the skin quickly, does not leave behind any sort of residue, and, touch wood, doesn’t irritate my skin. I don’t see why this product wouldn’t be one for you.
