A little while ago, my parents went to a wedding to celebrate the marriage of longtime friends. The ceremony itself was within a parish, and the reception took place at Copetown Woods Golf Club in, you guessed it, Copetown, Ontario. My parents were thoroughly impressed with this venue, as well as the food served for the meal, and both said they would absolutely go back again to dine (they don’t golf). So, given my mom just celebrated her birthday, my dad thought visiting The Bistro at Copetown Woods would be a sufficient option for her to enjoy.
I’ll note that The Bistro itself is separate from the venue area of the facility where wedding receptions are held, just to avoid confusing anyone.
The Bistro has a decent-sized menu with a wide array of options. To give you some insight, my dad had bruschetta as an appetizer and an Asian noodle bowl as his main; my mom had broccoli salad alongside steak tacos; Blaine had fish and chips; my sister, Danielle, had honey butter pretzel bites as an appetizer and a burger for her entree; I had, quite honestly, probably the best tasting shrimp tacos I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.
The shrimp tacos deserve more attention, so allow me to tell you more about them. The shrimp in question were lightly battered and served with arugula, charred corn salsa, radish, avocado, cotija cheese and Baja sauce. Perfection, I tell you.
The Bistro very much so has the golf clubhouse feel, but with a cozy, welcoming twist. It is pretty big and seats plenty of people, and it is casual dining.
We didn’t see much of the course itself, but the grounds (which were formerly home to a broccoli farm) are stunning, and a wedding was actually taking place when we were there. Whether you visit to eat or golf, Copetown Woods is worth a visit.
