Bowling: quite literally fun for everyone

Blaine and I have a good friend, Nic, who has been asking us to join him for bowling for a while now. We did make plans a few times, only for them to fall through for a variety of reasons, so when we made the plan to finally go this past weekend, we agreed nothing was going to stop us this time around.

Blaine and I are far from avid bowlers, and we aren’t exactly talented when it comes to the game. Nic bowls a bit more often than we do, so he was certainly better than me, but Blaine ended up being quite the bowler and ended up securing a series of fantastic strikes. Nic got several strikes as well, and shockingly, I did, too; one was with my left hand (I am left-handed when it comes to writing, but I do everything else with my right hand), and the other was done granny-style.

Technicality is not my forte when it comes to bowling, evidently.

We all had a blast, and driving home, I was chatting with Blaine about why bowling really is so enjoyable. He agreed with me when I said that regardless if you’re a professional or a beginner, when you visit a public bowling alley on any given day, you’re probably going to see one of each and a whole bunch in between, which is the beauty of it – you can be phenomenal, or you can be pure shit, and either way, you’re going to enjoy yourself, because the probability of someone else bowling at the same time as you with similar skill sets is rather high. You don’t feel awkward or out of place; rather, you’re surrounded by people who came out to whatever bowling alley for the exact same reason you did – to have some fun and let your guard down a bit.
