Pickle ketchup: a killer combination

While grocery shopping a few days ago, I made my way to the condiments aisle because I needed to replenish my ketchup stock. I am a feign for ketchup, and have been since I was child; I know there are plenty of people out there who find ketchup positively revolting, but I do not, and I strongly doubt I ever will.

When I stopped in front of the ketchup selection, I was surprised to see a new addition – Heinz’s Pickle Flavoured Ketchup was basically begging to hop into my basket, and without a second thought, I grabbed one and brought it home to try that evening with some French fries.

My God, my mind has been blown, and I might have to stick with the pickle version when it comes to ketchup for the foreseeable future.

I kid you not, this stuff is absolutely delicious, and yes, it certainly does taste like pickles. Check out a product description from the Heinz website:

“Pickle lovers, rejoice! The thick and rich Heinz Ketchup you love now packs a punch of pickle flavor. Add a bold, tangy twist to all your favorite foods with Heinz Tomato Ketchup with Pickle Seasoning. Our tomato ketchup with pickle seasoning features notes of brined cucumber juice, vinegar and dill for a bright, fresh flavor. The bright pop of vinegar and the freshness of blended cucumber juice complement ketchup’s sweet flavor, making it a versatile option for providing a fresh tang that pairs perfectly with grilling favorites. Try our tomato ketchup with pickle seasoning on burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries and more.”

When I tried this ketchup with French fries, it literally tasted like I was eating dill pickle chips with a hint of ketchup, and it was a very pleasant experience.

I’m excited to try this ketchup on different things, but in the meantime, grab some for yourself if you love pickles. It is absolutely worth it.
