This past Sunday, Blaine and I were trying to determine where to go for dinner. We came to the realization that we hadn’t been for dinner together in quite a while and, therefore, should arguably do so again; we narrowed our options down and eventually settled on a restaurant we haven’t enjoyed for a little while, but is always good – Symposium in Brantford, Ontario.
Located on King George Road, Symposium holds a bit of a special place in my heart because my mom and I would often dine there while my Oma and Opa were still alive. They were both in their 90s and, understandably, became accustomed to specific dishes they liked to savour, and Symposium always had something they enjoyed.
Blaine loves their fish and chips, and he says the fish is always fresh and coated in a crispy yet light batter. I normally order their club sandwich, which is truly one of the best club sandwiches I have ever consumed in my life. I’m not entirely sure what sort of sorcery is performed on the sandwich in question to allow it to taste as incredible as it does, but I am definitely not complaining.
Symposium has a large menu with plenty of selection, and some of the other dishes I have had and absolutely recommend include their breakfast, their chicken souvlaki, their seafood pasta, and their hamburgers. They have a tremendous dessert selection, too, and my mom has had their carrot cake, but I have yet to sample one of their cakes.
The portions are great, the menu is large, and the prices are decent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also lovely, and it reminds me a little bit of something you might see in Europe, if that makes sense.
If you haven’t tried Symposium, consider this a sign to do so.
