Long hair? Try these styles to keep it out of your face

I have had long hair for a few years now, and when I say long, I mean it hits just about halfway down my ass. It’s long enough that it gets caught in my pants when I pull them up after relieving myself, and as much as I appreciate and enjoy having long hair, there are days during which I yearn for nothing more than a pair of clippers because it so often is in the way or in my face.

I’ve managed to come up with a few go-to styles that keep hair out of my face, and I thought I would share them with anyone out there who, like me, has a love-hate relationship with their lengthy locks.

The first is my go-to, and while it might not be the most visually aesthetic style, it gets the job done. You really can’t go wrong with a messy bun, and I do mine by hanging my head upside down, gathering my hair into both of my hands towards the back of the top of my head, if that makes sense, twisting it all the way to the ends, then wrapping it around itself and securing it with a scrunchy.

The next is a braid, and I can only manage to do a Dutch braid on my own head, as odd as that sounds. Sometimes I will style it into one single braid down the back of my head, and other times I’ll do two and join them together at the nape of my neck to keep them from swinging around and smacking into my face.

Continuing with braids, I often do two Dutch braids on either side of my part and secure them back in a ponytail, or even with a small elastic at the back of my head, with the rest of my hair down, which actually looks rather nice and can be worn as a formal hairstyle.

What’s your go-to style for long locks?
