Pillsbury, we need to talk

Pillsbury is a highly recognized and highly reputable name in the food realm, and for solid reasoning; their croissants are arguably some of the most famous ones in existence, and you really can’t go wrong with a classic, fresh-baked croissant, hot out of the oven.

My mom didn’t buy a whole lot of Pillsbury when my sister and I were growing up, but Blaine is an avid fan of their crescent rolls. His mom often makes them for holiday dinners and significant occasions, and upon finally sampling one for myself, I can understand what all of the hype is about.

I grabbed some Pillsbury crescent rolls the last time I picked up some groceries and planned to make them and surprise Blaine. Naturally, I almost immediately forgot about them after putting them in the fridge, but when I moved some things around in there the other day, I spotted them and decided it was time.

While it is entirely possible I’m a bona fide dumbass, I don’t think I have ever struggled so much with food packaging in my entire life. Yes, I read the directions, and, yes, I attempted to open the can along the seam as suggested; however, the thing would not release. I was digging my nails into this supposed seam to the point of abuse, and it still wouldn’t let go.

I even went so far as to watch a bloody YouTube tutorial to open this bitch, only to be left in worse shape than when I originally started this quest. At this point, the can looked as though it had served a tour duty in a warzone, and because I was about to yeet it across the yard, I ended up having to take a steak knife to the centre and absolutely annihilate the dough pattern in the process.

Pillsbury, we need to chat about your packaging.
