Strong intuition is, in my own humble opinion, a rare and incredibly valuable skill to possess. Without sounding like an arrogant fuck, allow me to state that I feel as though I have a decent amount of intuition, and it has been of tremendous aid to me on several occasions in life.
If you’re unsure of what exactly intuition is, it’s the idea that someone can pick up on social and verbal clues in a specific situation and then formulate a judgment. A lot of people describe it as a gut feeling, or a sense that you’re cluing into something that other people around you are not.
Intuition strongly links with the ability to determine someone’s character without truly getting to know them, and having the ability to get a read on someone in this context is a valuable tool in many different areas of life. It can also be significantly helpful when you’re dealing with conflict, and this is when my own intuition really comes into play.
I recently had an interaction with my dad that enabled me to appreciate the full scope of my own intuition. One could argue that this example isn’t the most realistic because it involved my own dad, but just hear me out. Something had occurred, and he was telling me about the situation. I was paying attention to his tone of voice and his body language, and I could tell that in that moment my dad required me to maintain a level head and be logical as opposed to panicking or losing my shit. In the moment, I was leaning toward the latter, but after recognizing what my dad needed from me in that moment, as a result of my intuition, I was able to provide him with what he required as opposed to escalating the scenario.
Intuition is so helpful, and if you have it, consider yourself lucky.
