Anyone who knows me on a personal level is more than aware of my opinion towards adult acne. For context, I’ve had acne since I was a teenager, and to be honest, there are many days during my current adult years when I find my skin is worse now than it was when I was in my teens.
Before anyone jumps down my throat with product recommendations, please hear me when I say I have tried most, with the exception of Accutane, and I think the main culprit behind my shit skin is my plethora of underlying health issues.
When I spotted a bar of soap intended for acne-prone skin in a BuzzFeed article quite a while ago, I figured it was worth trying and ordered one for myself. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now, and while my skin is not miraculously cured, I do think it is helping to alleviate breakouts, and I wanted to share it with all of you.
The Sulfur Soap for Acne boasts excellent reviews on its Amazon page, and while it isn’t necessarily cheap ($34), it has been more effective than other acne products I have tried that actually cost more. It does have a bit of a peculiar smell, arguably thanks to having sulfur as an ingredient, but if you can get past that, then you should find yourself sailing smoothly for the most part. It can leave a bit of a film on your skin, so be sure to thoroughly wash all of it off, and perhaps use a washcloth to ensure the job is done correctly.
If you have acne and, like me, have tried most available products, consider giving this bar of soap a try. I keep mine in a plastic bag to prevent bacteria and germs from plaguing it, and you might wish to do the same.
