I was fortunate enough to discover the brand Glutino a couple of weeks ago while grocery shopping for school. I was scrounging the gluten free frozen food section, attempting to locate a specific type of wrap I have been enjoying as of late, and instead came across Glutino’s white sandwich loaf.
Gluten free bread is a hit or miss item. Prior to sampling Glutino bread, I had yet to come across a version of gluten free bread that did not crumble in my hands because its consistency was dryer than the Sahara Desert. It is unfortunate that gluten free bread fails to be something that typically tastes good, because for me personally bread is an essential in my everyday diet. Hence why I was eating wraps as an alternative – I was fed up with chewing styrofoam.
Let me begin by expressing my utmost joy regarding my discovery of Glutino’s white sandwich bread. This stuff is soft, fragrant, moist and fluffy, and while bread arguably does not seem like a worthy blog topic, I am so incredibly happy to be able to enjoy bread again and just wanted to share my happiness with all of you. Glutino bread is typically available in a grocer’s gluten free frozen food section, however they make a variety of different gluten free items, some examples being crackers, cookies, pretzels and muffins. As for their bread variations, I have seen whole wheat versions, rye versions and of course the traditional white bread variety I was fortunate enough to stumble across.
This bread is delicious plain, with peanut butter, with lunch meat or with literally any substance you could spread on a sandwich. It is not overly expensive and if you are intolerant to gluten or suffer from Celiac Disease I highly recommend sampling this particular type of bread.
