Profile: Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is one dude I would love to go for a coffee with. He really does seem like such a genuine, down-to-earth kinda guy, hence why I wanted to do a profile post about him.

Reeves, born Sept. 2, 1964, us a Canadian actor, producer, director and musician, believe it or not. He’s appeared in several blockbuster films, a few examples being Bill and TedPoint Break, Speed, John Wick and John Wick II, The Devil’s Advocate, Constantine and The Matrix. Regarding his musical career, he has played bass for Dogstar and Becky, two separate bands.

Keanu is Canadian, though is entitled to British citizenship through his mother, and he owns an American green card.

One of the things that intrigue me most about Reeves is his charitable work. He launched a cancer charity, choosing not to associate his name with the organization, and further supports PETA, the SickKids Foundation, and Stand Up to Cancer. In 2014, he revealed his sister struggled with leukemia for over a decade. It’s been reported that he donated $8 million of his $114 million earnings to the special effects and makeup staff involved with The Matrix.

This boss is also a motorcycle enthusiast, and he co-founded Arch Motorcycle Company, which builds and sells custom-made bikes.

In 1999, his girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, gave birth to their daughter, Ava, who was eight months stillborn. The couple split several weeks later, and in 2001, Syme was involved in a serious car crash in which she was killed.

This dude deserves so much respect. He keeps to himself, is incredibly generous, and definitely does not allow fame to get to his head (I’ve heard he rides the subway regularly). I think he’s a phenomenal actor (specifically in John Wick) and I look forward to the next production he is involved with. They don’t usually disappoint.
