Cult-favourite beauty products

Whether you’re a makeup pro or amateur, chances are you’ve come across some products in your day that your makeup bag can’t go without.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to what I smear on my face every day, and with good reason. You only get one face, so why not treat it with care and respect?

I thought it might be fun to compile a list of some of my beauty must-haves. Some of these may work equally well for others, and some may be a complete disappointment. I always take product reviews with a grain of salt, because everyone and everyone’s skin are different. Who’s to say something that worked terribly for you won’t be an absolute necessity for someone else?

Without further ado, here are my cult-favourite beauty products.

This stuff has been a go-to of mine for a few years now. It’s affordable, it’s versatile (I use it primarily as a bronzer, but it works as a great eyeshadow base, too), and it’s packed with good ingredients, like anything else from Physicians Formula. It also smells like Pina Coladas, so what’s not to like, really?

For under ten bucks a tube, I dare you to find a better mascara for the same price. This stuff gives my lashes fantastic, clump-free length, and it doesn’t transfer to my lids. It’s a quarter of the cost of some luxury mascara brands, and it never disappoints.

I’ve been using this foundation for probably five or six years now, and although the price tag hurts the wallet a wee bit, it’s worth it. This stuff lasts all day long, doesn’t budge, and provides phenomenal coverage for my acne-prone skin. This stuff is seriously the shit.

What are some of your beauty cult-favourites?

  1. Great post! I completely agree with the Butter Bronzer. I’ve only just tried it in the last year, and I already know I’ll be repurchasing. I can’t imagine a higher-end bronzer being that much better than this one, it’s so good. I haven’t tried Double Wear, but I’ve been wanting to. Do you find it oxidizes? Or, is it pretty true to color when matched?

    1. Right? The bronzer is fantastic. I’ve never had an issue with oxidation with the Double Wear, and the colour is a close match. I do recommend testing out shades in-store, though, because it’s pretty tricky online.
Thanks so much for reading! 🙂
