Finding inspiration

This post is a little different from what I normally do here on my blog.

Rather than the bulk of this piece consisting of my own words, I thought it might be kind of neat to share some of my favourite inspirational quotes with all of you.

Cheesy? Perhaps. But, words can carry emotion, in my opinion, so why not share what gives me inspiration with all of you?

“I can’t give you a sure-fire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.” – Herbert Bayard Swope

“Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

“It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” – J. K Rowling

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: It goes on.” – Robert Frost

“In order to write about life first you must live it.” – Ernest Hemingway

“Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.” – Oscar Wilde

“If you aren’t going all the way, why go at all?” – Joe Namath

“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.” – David Viscott
“Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.” – St. Augustine
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. ” – Oscar Wilde
“The best way out is always through.” – Robern Frost
These quotes stand out to me for different reasons, as quotes do for most of us. Some of these offer inspiration, some offer strength, others perseverance, and some encouragement.
It amazes me how much consolation can be found in words, and often times, words of others. Such simple phrases can become integral components of a person’s philosophy, something I find to be rather incredible.
What are some of your favourite quotes?
