Game of Thrones: the final season

It’s been a long, painful experience waiting for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones to premiere. I finished up the seventh season about a year ago, so you can likely imagine my impatience as I longingly wait for the last season to arrive.

I assume many of you are in the same boat if you’re a fan of the show.

Lone behold, the trailer for the eighth season was released via YouTube on March 5, and it’s pretty damn cool. Take a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlR4PJn8b8I

Side note: I was very relieved to spot Tormund in the trailer, as the final episode of the seventh season ended with him in the midst of a collapse on the wall of The Night’s Watch. *phew*

I am one of the millions of Game of Thrones fans, but unless you’re an avid watcher of this fantastic series, it’s probable that you fail to understand just how insane this show is. The acting, the visual effects, the storyline, the plot twists … each episode leads to new development, and just as you think you’ve finally come to a concrete understanding of what exactly is going on, something changes.

It definitely keeps you on your toes.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Jon and Daenerys’ plays out. The end of season seven hinted that their relationship may not be for the best for different reasons, so it will be interesting to see which direction they take it in throughout the last season.

I’m also eager to see how everything will end. I imagine several main characters will meet their demise, knowing former Game of Thrones history, and I imagine there will be many twists and turns just as there has been in every other season thus far – not to mention the final battle between the living and the dead.

April 15 can make its arrival any day now.
