If you’re a horror fan, you need to watch The Perfection

When first heard about the movie The Perfection via my Facebook timeline, I knew it was one I was going to have to see.

Why, you may ask?

When the release of a horror flick is met with statements that people became physically ill watching it, you can bet it intrigued me.

Hey, I never said I was normal. I enjoy a solid horror movie, and I had a hunch this one was going to fit the bill.

The Perfection stars Allison Williams was Charlotte and Logan Browning as Lizzie, two musical prodigies who are particularly apt with a cello. Both Charlotte and Lizzie studied at the same musical academy and were both taught by a man named Anton, though as the film progresses, it becomes apparent that this academy isn’t what it’s cracked up to be.

The film opens just after the passing of Charlotte’s mother, whom she left the academy for to care for. Charlotte decides to reunite with her former instructor, meeting Lizzie, her rival, in the process. The pair end up hitting it off and decide to go on a vacation together, which is the point in the film where things get interesting.

I’m not going to give away any spoilers because this film is absolutely worth the watch. It is one of the best psychological thrillers I have seen in a while, and the plot is as twisted and unpredictable as a Game of Thrones episode. The acting from both Williams and Browning is impeccable (specifically Browning due to certain scenes), and their on-screen relationship couldn’t have been depicted better.

This film had me second-guessing myself right up until the final scene, and I imagine it will have you doing the same. It is completely worth the watch, and it may just leave you wanting more.
