Gift ideas for the hardest people in your life to buy for

Christmas shopping can be a rather stressful experience. In addition to costs potentially accumulating over the course of your buying, something else that can cause a sensation of being overwhelmed is trying to figure out what exactly to get the people you love.

And, unfortunately, it’s often the people we love the most that pose the biggest struggle when it comes to determining what to get them. My mom reminds me on a somewhat daily basis throughout the Christmas season of how tricky I am to buy for, and while I disagree, I feel the same way about her.

I think it’s reasonable to assume that buying gifts for family in a general sense can be a trying endeavour.

Because of this struggle that so many of us experience come Christmas time, I thought I would compile a list of random, non-specific gift ideas that just about anyone would be happy with. These ideas include both homemade and purchased items, and hopefully there’s something listed that can assist you in figuring out what to get that special someone.

  • A gift card to a restaurant, either a chain or independently owned, that has a little bit of everything on the menu
  • A gift certificate for a hair cut, manicure, pedicure, spa procedures or a massage
  • An Amazon gift card
  • A pre-paid visa
  • A personalized coupon offering cleaning services, snow removal, or running errands
  • A certificate to get some professional family pictures taken
  • A winery or brewery tour
  • Concert tickets
  • A homemade meal
  • Some may say these gifts fail to be personal, but they can be tailored to suit the needs and personality of whoever they’re for. That’s the beauty of them, and that’s why they made this list of mine. Whether or not this helps you in your gift search this year, it might help you achieve a better idea of how to go about finding that perfect something this year.
