I am not a vegan, and I have absolutely no desire to become one. I don’t have an issue with the concept of veganism, nor do I hold any hostility towards anyone who practices this sort of lifestyle, but I, for one, thoroughly enjoy consuming animal byproducts, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
While I personally am not a vegan, there are a lot of us who are, and because of the rise in veganism there are more and more vegan products coming onto the market. While grocery shopping with my mom a little while ago, I picked up iChoc’s White Nougat Crisp, a vegan ‘chocolate’ bar. While I can’t recall what this guy cost, I’m certain it was relatively inexpensive, and there were two other flavors in addition to the white nougat bar I purchased.
I’ve tried my fair share of vegan chocolate in the past, and while a few have been decent, a majority of the ones I’ve sampled have left me a bit disappointed. I am pleased to report, however, that the iChoc White Nougat Crisp did not let me down. In fact, if it weren’t advertised on its packaging, it’s arguable that upon tasting this bar you wouldn’t even know it’s vegan.
I suppose I should mention that I’m a nougat feign, therefore anything with nougat in it will likely impress me. But, considering this chocolate bar is vegan, I think it’s reasonable to emphasize my approval of it because it’s the first vegan version of nougat I’ve ever had, and it’s damn good.
I imagine not every major grocery chain carries these bars, but I picked this one up at Sobey’s. If you ever happen to see iChoc’s vegan bars, I definitely recommend giving them a try. They’re far better than I thought they would be.
