Need some inspiration? Read this

When I was a teenager, I experienced the phase I believe many teenage girls do which involves becoming somewhat heavily invested in ~inspirational~ quotes. I’m not exactly sure as to what it is that spurs this longing deep within the spirit of most adolescent girls to become fixated with quotes found on platforms like Pinterest and Tumblr, but a lot of us fell victim to this trend, if you can call it that.

To my knowledge, this is no longer nearly as prevalent as it was amongst teenagers these days. I consider this a little sad and ageing, to be honest. If I and all of us other gals subjected ourselves to this, I think it’s only fair the tradition continues onward through generations.

As lame and cringy as some of the quotes I shared on social media back in the day were, there are, to this day, quotes I found in this period of my teenage angsty life which can pick me up when my head is in the shitter. I think a lot of us would agree in saying certain quotes speak to the soul, and I thought I would share some of my favourites with all of you.

“What other people think of me is none of my business.” – Mark Twain

“When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” -Confucius

“Do not let making a living prevent you from making a life.” John Wooden

“Failure is not falling down. It is refusing to get back up again.” – Unknown

Each of these quotations speaks to me in a different way, but all of them have tremendous meaning and relevance to a variety of things in life. What are your go-to’s?
