If I had to guess, I would wager that between myself and my family, we, collectively over the span of a few years, have probably gone through half-a-dozen Keurig machines. I won’t lie to you; considering my family’s track record with these devices, I really didn’t have a whole lot of faith in them. I do think in recent years, however, that the manufacturing of these machines has improved, because I don’t seem to hear about anyone else’s shitting the bed like I did a few years back – at least, not to the same extent I once did.
I received a Keurig as a gift for my bridal shower, and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for Blaine and I seeing as he doesn’t drink coffee or tea, so I’m the one making it run its course, and it does so several times in a given day.
I drink too much coffee, but we’re not here to share our addictions today.
I’ve tried quite a few different brands regarding Keurig pods and flavours, and I like to think I’ve come up with a few that are arguably better than others.
For regular coffee, I prefer the McDonald’s Keurig pods.
For hazelnut coffee, Tim Hortons is the one to beat.
For vanilla-flavoured coffee, believe it or not, I find Folgers Keurig pods to have a better vanilla flavour than Tim Horton’s pods. I think Folgers’ regular coffee tastes how shoe leather might, but their vanilla biscotti pods are a fucking delight.
I don’t buy tea Keurig pods; rather, I put the bag in a mug, remove the previous pod from the machine, and simply brew hot water.
As for hot chocolate, I’m gonna have to say the Laura Secord pods beat out Tim Horton’s.
There ya have it, folks. A breakdown of some of the better Keurig pods available to buy, in my own humble opinion.
