Oreo showdown: which flavour is best?

I like Oreos, but I wouldn’t say I love them. They’re tasty, don’t get me wrong, but when it comes to original Oreo cookies, personally, I’d rather nibble on a homemade chocolate chip cookie.

Blaine likes Oreos, so I purchase mini snack-sized ones for him to take in his lunch when he is at work. He has been content with the original flavour, but thanks to my sister introducing us to some new flavours she spotted Stateside and brought back home with her, the original just ain’t cutting it for us anymore.

Danielle picked up birthday cake, java chip, and chocolate peanut butter pie-flavoured Oreos when she was across the border a little while back, and I can say with utmost confidence my perspective toward Oreos has been forever changed. After sampling some of these nifty flavours, I’m not certain I’ll ever be content with an original flavoured one again.

Out of these three flavours, the birthday cake is hands down the fucking best in my opinion. I ate an entire sleeve in an evening when I first tried them – I couldn’t stop, and I have no shame in admitting I was gnawing away at these bad boys like a savage rat in the dark in my own kitchen.

Not my finest moment, but an understandable one. I easily could have polished off the entire bag, but I deemed restraint at this particular moment to be the more feasible option.

Coming in second place is the chocolate peanut butter pie flavour. These ones are Blaine’s favourite, and for good reason; they’re phenomenal and offer the perfect blend of creamy chocolate and peanut butter.

I honestly didn’t love the java chip flavour, nor did Blaine, but they’re still good. I’d compare them in terms of deliciousness to the original Oreo – not bad at all, but a little lacklustre.

If you had to name your favourite Oreo flavour, what would yours be?
