Pain is arguably something we all inevitably experience at some point or another. It seems to be a component of life itself; unless you have some sort of genetic condition in which you’re immune to pain, we are all prone to meeting it.
Obviously, being in pain is not something most of us desire, unless you’re a glutton for punishment. However, despite not exactly wanting to be in pain, it can be hard to avoid depending on your own body, what you do for a living, if you play sports, etc.
I think we all feel pain differently to some extent, therefore we all have different preferences when it comes to pain management. Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of using painkillers – nothing against people who do make use of them by any means, but I personally don’t love having to rely on a drug to find relief. I will use painkillers if I’m not able to go about my normal day without them, but that’s about the only exception, aside from serious injuries.
I have a few things I like to rely on to manage pain, and one of them is my infrared sauna. Granted, I realize an infrared sauna is not something the majority of people own, but it is a wonderful practice to get into. It helps with pain, detox, inflammation and more, and I use mine on a daily basis for Lyme disease.
Judge me if you wish, but something else I tend to use when I’m hurting is marijuana. Personally, I’ve found marijuana to do more for me and my body than most painkillers, and if I don’t have to work or drive anywhere, I will smoke weed heavily to cope with whatever pain I’m feeling.
I also find a hot bath can work wonders.
What are your go-to pain relievers?
