Read this before your next Costco run

It has been a particularly hot summer here in Southern Ontario, and anyone who works outdoors can arguably attest to this. It’s been brutal at times, and when you factor in the lack of rain, the combination becomes borderline intolerable.

I am a heavy sweater in normal temperatures, so you can imagine how moist I have been these past few weeks. Sweating is a great thing for your body, but you have to be mindful of electrolytes if you’re someone who sweats as heavily as I do. I was chatting with my sister and told her how I don’t think I’m replenishing my electrolytes terribly well, and she gave me a hydration drink she recently grabbed from Costco.

The brand of the drink in question is Joyburst, and the following is an informative blurb about the brand, pulled from the website: “We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between great taste and a healthy lifestyle. That’s why we’ve spent decades creating a collection of flavorful, better-for-you beverages. Crafted with high-quality ingredients, our drinks deliver bold flavors and nourishing benefits to uplift your day, whether you need a gentle energy boost with natural caffeine, or refreshing hydration with essential electrolytes and premium multivitamins. Our mission is simple: to make healthy living exciting, enjoyable, and delicious. With every new product, we’re redefining wellness—bringing joy, vitality, and balance to your lifestyle, one sip at a time.”

My sister gave me a strawberry lemonade flavour to try of their Renew Hydration drinks, which is my favourite one, but they also offer a peach beverage as well as a watermelon one. They’re all very tasty, and they do not leave a gross aftertaste in your mouth like a lot of other electrolyte beverages do. The brand also makes energy drinks and soda, and while I’ve only tried their water, I imagine the rest of their products are as tasty as these.
