Have you been to Sociable Kitchen and Tavern?

Going out to eat is something I very much enjoy, yet don’t do as often as I might like. I think most people would agree with me on this; not having to cook your own food is always a pleasure, and even more so when said food is delicious.

I went for dinner a few days ago with two of my closest gal friends from our rugby team. I told them I wanted to treat them to dinner since they were kind enough to drive me, along with them, to most of our travel games this summer. When I asked where we should go, they suggested Sociable Kitchen and Taven in Brantford, Ontario, and because I honestly haven’t eaten here in years, I was more than pleased with the suggestion.

Socialble Kitchen and Tavern has a decent-sized menu with quite a bit of variety. You’ve got your typical roadhouse dishes like burgers, wings and sandwiches, but they also serve some lovely salads and appetizers you might not see on an average menu elsewhere, like Wonton Nachos. The interior is also very much roadhouse, but not necessarily full out, if that makes sense. There aren’t televisions everywhere you look, type-thing.

I ended up having the Yucatan bowl, which consisted of a smoked chicken breast, rice, avocado, tomatoes, corn chips, pickled onions, cilantro and a cider vinegrette. It was a healthy portion, and it was delicious, and both of my friends said their food was great. One of my friends has a soy allergy, and Sociable Kitchen and Tavern is actually one of the few restaurants in the city she can eat at.

Sociable is a great option for anything from family birthday dinners to meetings with colleagues. There is something on the menu for everyone, including the pickiest of eaters, and if you’ve never been, consider this your sign to go.
