What the heck is colloidal silver?

These past few months have not been wonderful for my husband and me in terms of getting sick. We were both sick around Christmastime, then again a few weeks later; Blaine ended up falling victim to yet another bug a couple of weeks ago, and he ever so kindly passed it along to me.

Both of us are a bit stubborn when it comes time to making the call regarding whether or not to see a doctor about a certain ailment, so, needless to say, neither of us has gone to a clinic to get checked out. Blaine has had it far longer than me, so if anyone should be going, it’s him.

My mom was kind enough to permit me to raid her cupboards and see what I could find that would alleviate symptoms of illness, and one of the items she granted me is colloidal silver. She usually keeps a bottle in the house, and her commitment to personal inventory truly paid off for me this time around, much like always.

For anyone unaware, colloidal silver, according to nccih.nih.gov, “… consists of tiny silver particles in a liquid … Colloidal silver was used to treat infections and wounds before antibiotics became available,” the web page states. I realize that isn’t a ton of information to go off of, but it isn’t easy to find any positive information about colloidal silver on the internet. It’s a bit of a controversial subject for that reason, and some sources claim it’s great, while others advise staying far away from it.

I do think that using it since I’ve gotten sick has assisted in alleviating the severity of some of my symptoms, and I figure that a controlled, small dose isn’t a tremendous cause for concern. Do your own research and see what you’re able to determine if you’re interested.
