Up until I destroyed my knee playing rugby, I had zero familiarity with the term prehab. I’ve heard of rehab, of course, but prehab is a term that has become rather well-known to me with my injury, and because I had no idea what the hell it involves, I thought I would offer an explanation in case anyone else out there is scratching their heads at the word.
Prehab, in my own words, involves preparing an element of the body prior to surgical intervention. It often involves physiotherapy, which is how I’m going about it, and the idea is to ensure that whatever it is that requires surgery is as strong as possible before the surgery is performed.
