Blaine and I have been chatting about going out for dinner together for a few consecutive weekends in a row now, only to have to change our plans due to unforeseen circumstances and alterations in events. We determined this past weekend that we were finally going to go, come Hell or high water, and I am pleased to report that our outing was, finally, a success.
Blaine has been wanting to go for breakfast as of late, so I suggested Wimpy’s Diner in Brantford because it has all-day breakfast. Blaine deemed it a fair compromise, so we went to Wimpy’s, and neither of us had dined there before.
I was rather impressed with the extent of Wimpy’s all-day breakfast menu. Oftentimes, when an establishment claims to have all-day breakfast, the breakfast in question actually ends at 4pm, or the selection is feeble. Not only does Wimpy’s offer breakfast right up until they close, but their breakfast options were fantastic. Blaine ended up getting some sort of combination breaky platter, with bacon, sausage, eggs, home fries, and toast, and I opted for the avocado eggs benedict. Blaine’s food looked and smelled incredible, and he said it tasted just as great, and my dish was also tasty as heck.
Both of us struggled to finish the entirety of our meals, because the portions are so generous, and we had a wonderful experience with our waitress, Amy. We ended up staying for a little while after we finished eating and paid the bill because Amy was such a delight to converse with.
Blaine and I absolutely plan to visit again, and not necessarily for breakfast; we spotted many tasty items on their menu that I would be more than happy to come back and try, and the old school diner vibes are something I will always appreciate.
