Television is something I would argue we’re all relatively opinionated about. What we enjoy in a series may not be what someone else does, making the topic a rather subjective one.
And while we may have different preferences when it comes to television shows, there are some that stand above others in terms of reputation and overall feedback. An article from Vulture provides a list of the best television series of 2019 so far, and I’m curious whether or not a majority of the public would agree.
Without further adieu, here is Vulture’s list of this year’s best shows:
- The Act (Hulu)
- Barry (HBO)
- Better Things (FX)
- Catastrophe (Amazon)
- Chernobyl (HBO)
- Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW)
- Documentary Now! (IFC)
- Fleabag (Amazon)
- Fosse/Verdon (FX)
- Leaving Neverland (HBO)
- The OA: Part II (Netflix)
- On My Block (Netflix)
- The Other Two (Comedy Central)
- Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (Netflix)
- PEN15 (Hulu)
- Russian Doll (Netflix)
- Shrill (Hulu)
- Tidying Up with Marie Kondo (Netflix)
- True Detective (HBO)
- Veep (HBO)
- Vilda (Starz)
- What We Do in the Shadows (FX)
- When They See Us (Netflix)
- You’re the Worst (FXX)
I haven’t heard of a few of the shows listed by Vulture, but I’m curious to look into some of them a little further to figure out what exactly they’re about. Be sure to reference the linked article for more information about each one.
Some of the best television shows over the years, in my opinion, include HBO’s Game of Thrones, A&E’s Sons of Anarchy, NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Netflix’s Queer Eye, and Netflix’s Godless. These shows aren’t new this year, but they will always hold a special place in my heart.
I’m curious to know what some of your favourite television shows are. If you have any recommendations, please leave a comment down below – sometimes, the best discoveries are made through suggestions.
