Need a new mattress? Read this

Upon sitting down to compose today’s post, I was once again met with some highly discouraging writer’s block. I think I sat and stared at my laptop screen for 15 minutes until, out of desperation, I turned next to Blaine (he was watching television in our room) and asked him for some inspiration. He pondered momentarily, looked at me and said ‘beds.’

Seeing as we were sitting in our bed when he suggested this, I think the setting was all too fitting.

After Blaine recommended this blog post topic, I realized that I haven’t yet discussed our mattress here on my blog, which surprised me considering how much Blaine and I enjoy sleeping atop it.

We have a king-sized bed, which has been nothing short of incredible for me, personally, seeing as I had a twin bed, or as Blaine called it, a prison cot, until I moved in with him after getting married. A couple of months before we moved into our home, we visited The Brick to get a mattress and box spring.

Neither of us was entirely sure of what we individually wanted in a mattress, so we tried a few out while shopping. The sales assistant that aided us was super helpful and knowledgeable, and she recommended a Stearns and Foster coil mattress, telling us it was the best coil mattress available on the market. It wasn’t cheap, but we deemed it an investment and purchased this bad boy.

This mattress is something like a cross between a traditional coil mattress and a Tempurpedic one, as bizarre as that sounds. How can a mattress be both? I couldn’t fucking tell ya, but Stearns and Foster seem to have figured it out. It has a lovely amount of give while being simultaneously firm, and Blaine and I are both very satisfied with our purchase.

If you’re on the hunt for a new mattress, consider trying a Stearns and Foster coil mattress. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.
