Sickness is not exactly something we wish to experience. No one particularly enjoys being ill for obvious reasons, so it makes sense that most of us try our best to keep our immune system defences up in hopes of warding off any harmful bacteria that yearns to make its way into our bodies. Unfortunately, though, sickness is a somewhat inevitable component of life for most of us, and unless you have an iron-clad immune system, it’s probable you will wind up ill at some point or another.
A lot of us tend to fall sick when the weather turns cold, and because that time of year is almost upon us, I wanted to write a post about a trick my family and I make use of whenever we feel any sort of sickness coming on. We have shared this trick with a number of people who now also swear by it, so I wanted to bestow this same nugget of knowledge onto all of you.
Allow me to state I am not a medical professional, nor is anyone in my family, so be sure to consult with your own doctor before trying something new in case you’re unsure.
Oregano oil is a fucking powerhouse, and it is incredibly effective at killing off any sort of bug before it cranks up its intensity. You can find it at most health food stores, and it is not terribly expensive. It tastes absolutely putrid, and forcing it down your throat is not the most pleasant of sensations, but it works, and the temporary suffering is absolutely worth the outcome. The moment I feel sick, I put a dropper-full in a glass of water and force it down.
A little advice? Do NOT lick your lips immediately after using it, and wipe them off with a napkin. If you burp, you’re going to be tasting it and smelling it for the remainder of the day, but it really does work.
