Electrolytes are arguably a component of your life if you live a relatively active lifestyle. If you do lead an active and busy life and you don’t use electrolytes, consider this post as a gentle, suggestive sign that perhaps you should. I went without them for years and can absolutely notice a difference in how I am feeling physically when I start slacking and stop using them as often as I should.
Not to overshare, but I have had some issues with quite a few different brands of electrolytes in the context of what they do to my gut. Most of them cause me to feel bloated and extremely gassy, and I suspect that’s why I stopped using them for so long – the effects simply were not worth the intake.
I noticed, last year, that quite a few of my rugby teammates were using BioSteel electrolytes, and so I decided to give them a try and hoped for the best; my hopes proved to be advantageous, because I’ve been using them for a few months now and have not had any adverse stomach reactions.
BioSteel offers a number of different electrolyte formulations and flavours, and I use their individual packets in the rainbow twist flavour. The flavour is pleasant and fruity, without being too intense, and the electrolytes themselves don’t leave a weird film or aftertaste in your mouth, which is always appreciated. They’re reasonably priced and are actually more affordable than a lot of other electrolyte options available on the market, so I plan to continue using them for the foreseeable future.
BioSteel is also a Canadian company, which is something I can always applaud, and I believe their products are sugar-free. They have plenty of different products to pick from, and I absolutely recommend the brand for their electrolytes.
