As I promised in my last post discussing Edible Options, a bakery dedicated to individuals who have dietary restriction in St. Catharines, today’s post will offer my own opinion of the desserts I purchased to sample.
- Maple Chocolate Cupcake: Quite honestly, I was entirely unsure as to how maple and chocolate as a combination would work together. I love chocolate, and I love maple, so I figured it was worth sampling, and I am so glad I did. This cupcake is literally the best cupcake I have ever had in my life, including cupcakes I was able to eat prior to developing my food intolerances. The first few bites provide a delectable chocolate flavor, and then the maple creeps in, enhancing the chocolate taste even further. Just incredible.
- Whoopie Pie: The whoopie pie I sampled from Edible Options is the first whoopie pie I have ever tried, and I think it is safe to say I have been missing out. Two soft, moist chocolate cakes sandwich a light and fluffy chocolate cream, and Edible Options’ whoopie pie melts in the mouth.
- Chocolate Chip Cookie: As an absolute classic, my expectations were high for this cookie, and I am pleased to say Edible Options’ chocolate chip cookie did not let me down. Crisp and chewy on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside, this cookie blew my mind.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Ball: These little gems from Edible Options are one of the most delicious desserts I have ever sampled. Fluffy and savory peanut butter is enrobed in a chocolate shell, and when the flavour hits your mouth you will likely have to take a moment to collect yourself.
Again, all of the items listed above are free of gluten, dairy, and egg. I cannot stress enough how thoroughly impressed with the Edible Options’ creations, and I am so thankful to have found some delicious treats in the Niagara region I can actually eat!
