Would you try these funky food combinations?

As we all know, certain foods taste best when paired together. Peanut butter and jelly, french fries and ketchup, pasta and spaghetti sauce … I could go on. But, aside from these highly recognized and favored food pairings, how willing would you be to try some pretty creative, off-the-wall combos?

After giving the topic some thought, I wanted to do a bit of research to see just how many interesting food pairings there are out there that have been tried and consumed by some rather brave folks. Here are some of the most interesting food combinations I’ve ever heard of, courtesy of The Huff Post:

  • Ketchup on pizza
  • Mayonnaise and cottage cheese
  • Jelly and cream cheese on a sandwich
  • Red wine and Coca Cola
  • Doritos and Boursin cheese
  • Melted butter, popcorn, and soy sauce
  • Hot sauce and popcorn
  • Ramen with a Kraft single slice that’s been melted
  • Olive and cream cheese sandwiches
  • Pickles dipped in orange juice
  • Cold pizza dipped in pop
  • Ketchup, raw onion, peanut butter and Ritz crackers
  • French fries and Wendy’s frosty’s
  • Black pepper, vanilla extract and Greek yogurt
  • Strawberries drizzled with balsamic vinegar
  • Cream cheese and Honey Nut Cheerios
  • Tabasco sauce on grilled pineapple
  • Mango with brie in a panini
  • Tuna, spaghetti and marinara sauce
  • Cheddar and apple pie (this is so good!)
  • Cheese and hot chocolate
  • Goat cheese and peanut butter
  • Goldfish crackers and apple juice
  • Marmalade, Sriracha, peanut butter and basil on a sandwich
  • Golden syrup with cheddar
  • Butter, sprinkles and white bread
  • Maple syrup with grits
  • Sausage dipped in some honey
  • Macaroni and cheese with Doritos
  • Grape jelly and mayo on a sandwich
  • A hamburger with a chocolate chip cookie on top

I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but there are a few combinations on this list I would be a little reluctant to try.

How about you?
