This past weekend, I had my mom, dad and sister come over for dinner at mine and Blaine’s home for Father’s Day. I’ve been slacking in the hosting department in the context of having my immediate family over to our home for some meals, so I figured Father’s Day would be a fitting opportunity.
I wasn’t entirely sure of what I was going to prepare until, literally, a few hours before they came over. My mom said she would bring a salad, so the veggie department was covered, and I eventually settled on a pasta dish composed of random shit I found in my fridge and freezer. It turned out surprisingly well, so I thought I would share my recipe, if you can even call it that, with all of you.
Sausage Summer Pasta
Ingredients (to serve six people):
- Six sausages of your choosing (I used a mix of two different kinds I found in my freezer)
- One large bag of penne pasta
- Two tbsp of olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Half of a white onion
- Two tbsp of minced garlic
- One tbsp of butter or margarine
- One tsp of paprika
- One tbsp of lemon juice
- Half a cup of grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Cook the sausages in an air fryer at 400 degrees F for 12-14 minutes, until they are cooked through.
While that’s cooking, fill a pot with water and add a bit of salt. Bring to a boil, add your noodles and stir for about a minute. Bring it down to medium and stir every few minutes.
While your pasta is cooking, warm a saucepan with your olive oil, salt and pepper. Once warm, throw in your onion and garlic and stir periodically until it’s a nice golden brown and your kitchen smells fucking heavenly.By this point, your sausage should be done, so chop it into slices and add that to your onion and garlic mix. Turn the temperature all the way down or turn it off for a bit, depending on your stove’s settings.
Your pasta should be al dente now, so strain the bitches and yeet them into a large bowl. Stir in your sausage, garlic, and onion mix, your butter or margarine, paprika, lemon juice and cheese and mix until it’s nicely blended.
Voila. You’ve got yourself a simple, quick and delicious meal that doesn’t cost a fortune for your next dinner party.
