Read this to learn how to detox your body

Yesterday’s post discussed the concept of detoxing the body. If you missed it, I basically provided some information, referencing a source, regarding detoxing and an overview of some of the reasons why one might be inclined to detox, and furthermore, some of the benefits of and reasons for doing so.

Today’s post will again address detoxing, but more specifically, it will cover different ways in which detox can be achieved. Again, this information comes from nchc.org.

How To Detox Your Body

“Add Probiotics To Your Diet

“Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when consumed in sufficient quantities, can aid in the improvement of gut health. Probiotics can also help improve the bacterial balance in the gut. This balance improves nutrient digestion and absorption while also reducing inflammation.

“Cut Processed Foods Out Of Your Diet

“Toxins are abundant in processed foods. They are high in unhealthy fats, refined carbohydrates, and artificial additives like artificial sweeteners and preservatives, which are all toxic to the human body. Eliminating such foods and substituting them with healthy foods reduces your exposure to these chemicals and protects you from their effects. When one makes it a habit to eat foods rich in natural nutrients it reduces the strain on the organs involved in detoxification.

“Drink Plenty of Water

“Clean water aids in the removal of toxins and waste products from the body. Water is a natural solvent that aids in the dissolution of toxins and their removal from the body via urine and sweat,” the web page explains.

The web page also lists fasting, hydrotherapy, sweating and avoiding environmental exposures as other means to detox, but personally, I’m not a big fan of fasting. Some ways to tell if you’re in need of a detox include skin breakouts, digestive issues, headaches, chronic fatigue, stiffness and joint pain.

Here’s hoping these posts broadened your knowledge of detoxing.
