How would you define yourself?

When I sat down to write this post, I wasn’t exactly sure of what the topic would be. With the changes we are facing as of late as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been slightly more challenging to think of new and fresh content to share with all of you wonderful folks. But, a random question crossed my mind that happens to be the topic of today’s post, said question being: how would you define yourself to others?

I think this question is one that many of us could benefit from asking ourselves. I think it’s interesting to observe how we define ourselves versus how others might define us, so I wanted to give it a shot.

So, to answer this question personally, I think I would define myself as someone with a good heart. I like to think I have a good sense of humour. I’m hard working and try my best to exhibit nothing short of great work ethic. I think I am loyal as well as honest – sometimes too honest. I am quick tempered and impatient. I can be hard when I should be soft, and sometimes I’m emotional when I would rather be tough, although I think I am a relatively tough person. I am a good listener and I enjoy helping others whenever possible.

I feel like I could continue listing who or what I think I am as a person, but we could be here for a while so I shall digress.

I really do believe this question is one that all of us should ask ourselves at some point. It is an effective way of engaging in a little bit of self-reflection, and further, it could serve as a reminder of what we think could use some additional work to be better people overall. We all have some good traits and some bad ones, but perhaps this personal question could assist us in having more of the former.
